Meet the Officers

Morning Reda- Youth Advisor
Morning Reda is the 2009 KTRHA Youth Advisor.   She brings to this role a lifetime of horse involvement and a knowledge of leadership and training from her profession.   Morning grew up around a mother that had shown hunter/jumpers all her life and gave Morning her first pony at the age of five.  She’s been riding ever since that first pony, “Tornado”.
Professionally, Morning is the Manager of Training and Development at HealthSpring, a Medicare Advantage Plan.   She has a team of two that assist with teaching all new employees about their role and how to do their job as well as leader development for all levels in the organization. This includes:  web-based training programs, development and delivery of classroom style training programs as well as one on one coaching.  She is married to Rich Glasgow, who she says, “ is very supportive of my passion for horses, but is not into them at all-  he prefers a steel horse- most of you have heard him roll into the shows on it.”
Morning loves to show at ARHA, AQHA and NRHA events.  She says she does not like to ride unless she has something to work on with her horses.    The fact she likes to work is evident in her success in the show pen.  Most recently she has shown SR Melody, and Major Wadhams, both reining horses turned all around horses with Morning’s help.
Morning has a definite vision for KTRHA. “I hope to see KTRHA continue to be one of the strongest charters in ARHA.  In addition, I would like to see growth in all those who join KTRHA, whether it is knowledge, friendships, or reaching thier own personal "show" goals.  Most of all, I hope everyone will look back at our shows and say they had FUN!”

June News

June News
The KTRHA show season is now half done, but has been completely successful!  Our Wacky Trail on May 29th was something special.  The riders from the New Beginnings Therapeutic Riding Center did an amazing job with the tricky obstacles.  Ranch horse competitors had a whole new respect for their fellow riders as they attempted carrying balls on tennis racquets, touching hula hoops to the ground, then dangling the hoops from their toes and moving over to a cone to drop the hoop around the cone.  As you might imagine, it was very entertaining to watch.  Congratulations to Janet McDonald who won the Wacky Trail Challenge.
The rest of the show also went smoothly and we had a great turnout.  The Tarter sponsored Great Saddle Giveaway was again a highlight of the show, and this show’s saddle went to Lenee Allison!  Congratulations to Lenee who is happily enjoying her new Don Rich saddle.  We were honored to have Don Rich himself at the show and personally draw out the winning ticket.
Our high point awards for this show were generously donated by Southern States.  Winning the youth high point was Tonnie Mirenda riding Katie Mae Young, with Reserve going to Kendra Kelley and ER Norman.  Amateur High Point was a close battle between Lisa Jones riding Fishy Banker and Lenee Allison and Winter Sage.  Lisa Jones came out on top, with a hard earned Reserve going to Lenee Allison.  Good riding and showing on everyone’s part.  In the Open Division, the High Point went to THF Hollywood Crome owned by Kammi Kern-Norton.   Kammi shows the gelding along  with trainer Ben Bowman taking the reins for a few of the classes.  Reserve Open High Point went to Smart Little Bubbie, who was ridden by owner Randy Cope.    The Versatility Event was also won by THF Hollywood Crome.
The KTRHA Bucks program made its debut at this show and was a hit.  In this program volunteers get paid KTRHA Bucks for helping with show duties such as working the gate, and helping during the trail.  The bucks can then be redeemed towards a show tab.   Thanks to everyone who helped out, and look for this program to continue the rest of the year.
The World show lies ahead of us.  KTRHA is looking forward to sponsoring one of the receptions.  If you’d like to help, this too counts for KTRHA bucks.  Just contact any officer and they can more give details.
Our August “Youth and Amateur Extravaganza” is coming together and we are expecting this to be one of our bigger shows.   Check back on this web site soon for further details.
Until then, keep riding, and hope to see everyone at the World Show!

For more information on the show, see the schedule of events page on this web site.
